Privacy Policy
Last updated October 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Craftshift (“we”, “us”) handles information on octoliftai.com (the “Website”), the marketing website of the Octolift Shopify app (the “App”). It also summarizes how the App handles store data; the App’s full privacy policy is at octolift.com/privacy-policy. If you have any questions, email [email protected].
Summary
- The Website has no accounts, forms or logins. It uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read, with Google Consent Mode.
- Visitors from the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent first. Everyone else can turn analytics off at any time.
- We never sell your data and never share it for advertising. Advertising storage is always switched off.
- The App never reads your customers, and sends product text to AI providers only to score and improve your listings.
Information we collect on the Website
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how the Website is used, for example which pages are read and which links lead to the Shopify App Store. It uses the cookies _ga and _ga_NYJ7TVZWKL, each kept for up to 2 years.
- If you visit from the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, these cookies are set only after you click Accept in the cookie banner, and we rely on that consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Until then, or if you decline, Google receives only cookieless signals without identifiers.
- Everywhere else, analytics is on by default and you can turn it off at any time.
- You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or use Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Declining deletes the analytics cookies already set.
Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google may process this data in the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Country check. To decide whether to show the cookie banner, your browser asks our hosting provider (Cloudflare) which country you are visiting from. We don’t store it.
Your browser. Your cookie choice, your language choice and your light or dark theme choice are stored in your browser’s local storage, not on our servers.
Server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard server logs (IP address, browser type, time of request) for security and reliability.
When you contact us. If you email us, we receive your name, email address and the content of your message, and use them only to answer you.
How the App handles store data
When you install the App, Shopify shares your store’s name, domain, plan, country and contact details, and the name and email of the user who opens the App. To score your products, the App reads product data (titles, descriptions, images, categories and related fields) and sends listing text, and for suggestions up to four product images, to an AI model provider: OpenAI, Anthropic or Google. We use their paid API tiers, whose terms state that submitted content is not used to train their models.
The App writes to a product only when you approve a change, and only the title, description, category and category fields. It reads aggregate sales that Shopify attributes to AI channels, never individual customers. Support chat runs on Crisp and emails are sent through Resend. When you uninstall, access is revoked at once and your store’s data is deleted when Shopify asks us to erase it, about 48 hours later. The details are in the App’s privacy policy and in Data and privacy.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Understand which pages of the Website help merchants, and improve them.
- Provide the App and support when you ask for it.
- Bill you through Shopify’s billing system.
- Keep the Website and the App secure and reliable.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the Website and the App (hosting, analytics, email delivery, support chat, AI model providers), under terms that require them to protect it, and when required by law.
Retention
Analytics data is kept in Google Analytics for no longer than 14 months. Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to help you. App data is kept while the App is installed, as described above.
Your rights (GDPR and CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion; we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email us. We respond within one month. You can also complain to your data protection authority; ours is the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Children
The Website and the App are intended for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
