Agentic sales: what AI assistants sell for you

How Octolift reports the orders, sales and visits AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Shop bring your Shopify store, and how they are attributed.

Agentic sales are the orders an AI assistant either placed for a shopper or referred to your store, as Shopify’s own sales analytics attribute them. Octolift shows them on the Home page and on the Agentic sales page, by assistant and by product, so you can see what AI already sells for you.

Where do you see agentic sales?

  • Home. What your store earned from AI assistants across how many orders in the last 30 days.
  • Agentic sales page. The store wide view over the last 7, 30 or 90 days: what AI assistants earned you, how many shoppers they sent and what share of them bought, which products they sold, and the orders themselves with a link to each one in your Shopify admin.

Which channels count?

The channels Shopify’s sales data credits as agentic:

  • ChatGPT
  • Google AI Mode and Gemini
  • Microsoft Copilot
  • Shop

A channel with no sales in the period shows a dash in the breakdown.

How are sales attributed?

Octolift uses Shopify’s last click attribution with direct visits left out, the same model Shopify’s own reports use: an order counts for the assistant that completed the sale or referred the visit. The result is an estimate. AI assistants often open your store without a referrer, so some orders they bring show up as direct traffic and the real total is likely higher.

The page also shows the visits AI assistants sent your online store, and what share of them bought or reached a cart. A sale an assistant completes inside its own chat never opens a visit to your store, so your AI sales can include orders those visits do not.

Where do the numbers come from?

The figures are read from your own Shopify sales and visits analytics through the reports permission. Octolift never reads, stores or shows a customer: no name, no email, no address. The order list shows your own orders as your admin already does (order number, date, assistant, total and item count). Figures refresh about once an hour, in your store’s currency.

Why might the card be hidden?

  • Shopify does not provide this report for development stores.
  • The card is hidden whenever Shopify does not return the report for a store, and appears on its own once it does.
  • If the card shows but says there are no AI assistant sales yet, the report works and simply has no orders from AI channels in that period.
